I was involved in a domestic violence case and I have petitioned for a green card under VAWA. On this website, it clearly says I am eligible for FAFSA but my school insists that I am not qualified even after sending all the documents I have received from USCIS.
Here is the newest BS they sent me and asked me to provide MORE documents.
Persons paroled into the U.S. must show documentation showing that they have been paroled into the U.S. for more than one year. We don’t have any such document from you.
Your status as a parolee expires on 9/21/2024. We cannot disburse funds if your documentation shows that your parole expires before disbursement is made.
Like what am I supposed to do now? I have an EAD card that also acts as Advanced parole which allows me to leave and re-enter the US without a valid visa. I found another post on Reddit that says the parolee expiration date does not mean anything as the status resets everything I re-entered the country.
How can I proof this: To qualify for federal student aid, certain eligible noncitizens must be able to provide evidence from the USCIS that they are in the United States for other than a temporary purpose with the intention of becoming a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.?
This really sucks as this is the first time I ever encounter with financial aid office, and their attitudes are just throwing me off. Aren't they supposed to help? They keep telling me oh you are not eligible you can use this link to drop your classes.
Thanks for any inputs in advance!
