Post Body

My wife recently went apartment hunting while I was working and was shown an apartment she could only describe as cozy and cute. The landlord told us they had another unit available that was exactly the same by their own description. Last week we were given the okay to move in a day early due to the holiday only to find the place had holes in the doors and walls that had been painted over, the swamp cooler vent rotting out of the roof and the flooring torn out with baseboards missing as it was still in the middle of a renovation. We were even told to avoid going into the bedrooms as they had just finished staining the floors after pulling up the carpets. We told them we felt misled but they told us the options are to take the unit assigned, wait for another unit, or pay $2000 60 days of rent. Is there any way to get out of the lease without losing a chunk of our savings?
