I live in Mississippi. My boyfriend of one year took my car to work two days ago and has yet to return. He has ignored all of my texts and phone calls. I called his best friend and was told he hasn’t seen him.
He is not in jail or the hospital because I can see where he cleared out the bank account.
I called the sheriff’s department to report my car stolen (it also has my purse in it). I was told I cannot report it stolen because I gave him permission to take it to work.
I can’t imagine just letting him have my car. If I can’t report it stolen, what am I supposed to do in an effort to get it back? There has to be some sort of legal repercussion for taking someone’s car and not returning it, right?
