for context: I’m 19 and didn’t grow up with the best home life. I’m just a couple of weeks away from getting my own place and moving out of my home town in Indiana to cut off my entire family. I have quite a few mental health struggles and my dog has been an extremely beneficial thing for them. I want to take her with me when i move however i’m nervous my mother would make a big deal about it possibly even call the cops as i plan to go no contact. she has paid for the dog since we’ve had it as i was still a child. she has asked me to start paying for her needs and has told me to take her when i move, but then 2 days ago told me i wasn’t allowed to take her. In the past my mother has allowed my dog to be abused and neglected so leaving her would break my heart. what’s the most likely outcome if i take my dog against my mothers wishes?
