Me and my buddy go to school in western NC. He lives in an apartment complex and pays for the overpriced parking permit, but today he was towed. Apparently they were too lazy to go and look in the window for the ticket and just towed him without checking. When he got to the impound lot they said he needed to pay 200 bucks (cash only) for holding the car. They then started spewing random numbers and letters that were supposedly laws they were following. Since were college students we can't really afford to fight them in court so instead we just took petty road and requested an audit from the IRS. We payed the stupid fee and got the car back but I was wondering if we could've legally stole it back. It was taken illegally, so why shouldn't we be able to just hot wire it and roll it off the lot at night?
