Hello. Car had electrical fire 6/15. Towed to mechanic shop and dropped it off.

Never signed anything. They said they will look. Next week they said they can fix after ordering a part. Waited and waited for 2 months with me visiting every week for an update

After 2 months of waiting, On 8/22 I got insurance involved and they deemed total loss.

Mechanic charged insurance 3800$ for storage and diagnosis fee. Which came out of my payout.

I never signed anything at this store yet. From the day I dropped off till now. Never signed any invoices or bills. Or storage agreements.

Do I have any recourse against this auto shop and any tips.

I’m feeling nauseas from the anxiety tbh.
