I live in Louisiana. On multiple occasions, my schedule has been so slammed that I can only take a 10 min lunch or not take a lunch at all. I found on my check that they take 30 minutes out of everyday anyway for lunch. Whether I took a lunch break or not. Is that legal? Also we rotate an on call schedule. Itās 7 days straight 24 hours a day. We are expected to answer a call at any moment, call the customer immediately and dispatch to the customer location at the drop of a hat. But we only receive $75 for the week as compensation for being āon callā. We donāt have a choice but to be on call. And we arenāt allowed to clock in until we dispatch. So if I have to talk to customers for 3 hours in the middle of the night, I donāt get paid for that time. I was told, āthatās what the $75 is forā. Is this legal either?!
