Can I go to jail for my dad being a drug dealer?

Met my dad a few weeks ago, never been around him before, and I just found out he’s a drug dealer from my mom. She’s telling me if I get caught being in the same car as him I’ll go to prison, jail or have charges against me. Is this true? I understand being caught with drugs on me, or near me, or going with him when sells it.. but if not. What can the police do?? She also says we can’t report him cause there’s no proof of it, when I told her let’s report him she immediately backed down, saying we couldn’t do a thing but police have eyes on him. I’m not sure what do to??
