I travel for work, a couple months ago I was working in Nashville TN, I live in NC, while I was there I bought a half oz of weed (14 grams). When it was time to head home I left TN with a few grams shy of a half oz in my car, my car isn't in great shape it is missing a headlight/the front bumper. I got pulled over by a state trooper for this, he smelled weed and told me he did, knowing he would find it anyway I complied completely and told him where it was. He gave me a field sobriety test which I passed, he searched my car and found the weed, a rolling tray and a grinder. When all was said and done he gave me a possession charge and two paraphernalia charges, but he let me go home because I complied. When the time came for my court date, I left for TN and 30 minutes into my drive a tire blew. I had no choice but to go back home and call the court in the morning. I did and they gave me a continuation for about a month. Now I have been a complete moron, honestly I don't know a lot about how our court systems work and I work 50-80 hours a week pouring concrete and being on the road and working nights and I honestly just didn't think it would be a huge deal, I thought at most I'd get a fine and I haven't gotten a lawyer because I thought that they would provide me with a public defender on my court date if I can't afford a lawyer. Now my court date is tomorrow morning and I'm stressing, I'm not prepared at all. I'm worried my car won't even be able to make the drive to Tennessee. I know I'm probably fucked, but is there anything I can do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
