Hello good afternoon
I am in a really tough situation and need all the advice I can get!
About 8 months ago I wrecked my loaned vehicle that I got 3 years ago. That car when I got it was worth $28.798, today it is worth around $14.000 according to KBB with the updated mileage. I owe $21.000 on it still. I took it to my friends body shop and it’s been there getting work done since then, I’m still missing around $3800 dollars to fix it. After 3 months of the wreck I sadly couldn’t keep up with payments and since then have stopped paying it, I have it in a warehouse, but I have gotten emails that my Credit Union wants it back. I really don’t want to give up on it and turn it in as im more out of the problem than in, on top of that I owe about 3k on some medical bills of an accident I had about a year ago. I owe around $4800 on credit cards and $12.000 on taxes to the IRS from a failed business of 2 years ago. Unsure if I should file for bankruptcy ? If yes for which one? What are the consequences for not turning in my car when I’m behind on it? Please help! This situation has belittled my mental state in less than a year.
