Fired for Absences due to being sick (flu, covid) in a Hospital

Post Body

I was fired from a Hospital job due to 5 absences from being sick. These occurred throughout a whole year and was caused by covid once and the flu twice. The employers policy states that 5 total absences, regardless of reason, will result in firing. I received property verbal and written warnings prior to the firing. I filed for unemployment 3 days after and the employer has appealed it.

What are my chances of winning? All absences were situations where my health would have been a major concern around other employees and patients ESPECIALLY. You would think a hospital would be more forgiving for such a situation.

I have all proof of doctor notes but their policy states clearly that a doctor note (or similar) will not count for anything. Any help is appreciated!
