Post Body

I recently started delivery driving part time to pay my student loans. Everything has been chill, but on Saturday during my last stop, a customer’s dog ran out of house and bit me. In addition to the owner not controlling her dog, she let him run down the street and charge at a child on a scooter. Clearly this animal has behavior problems.

I reported the accident to my job and went to urgent care. Took pictures of my injury yesterday and today. I still have the ticket with the customers full name, phone number and address. The bite broke skin and bled a little. My back and legs are sore. I only get one day off a week and wasn’t able to enjoy it.

UC didn’t do anything for me but told me to ice it and take Tylenol. The dog bit me on my back upper thigh just below my buttocks. I have arthritis and nerve problems in my lower back and legs. I haven’t felt great. Chronic pain is already a struggle, but this has just made my quality of life worse.

I spoke with an attorney today and was advised to not take this to court. Something about this being a difficult case and it wouldn’t be financially rewarding. I just don’t think I should let this slide. It’s not my fault.

I don’t feel safe returning to work now and may have to put in my resignation. It’s so hard to find a part time job willing to work with my schedule.I’m just not really sure what to do :(
