For reference, I live in Texas. We had an issue with our bathtub a few weeks ago where a crack appeared in the bottom of the tub where you stand. Maintenance was called and we had to leave our apartment for 3 days so it could be fixed. My husband and I stayed with my MIL and she was out of town so it wasn’t an imposition on her (I have 2 dogs that had to be out of the apartment as well. She hates dogs lol.) Well now the crack has reappeared and maintenance was notified. I told them in the maintenance request that my husband and I would be out of town on vacation for 5 days which should be plenty of time to get the tub fixed. I called the day before we left to confirm that they’d still be coming. The maintenance man was off that day but the front office confirmed that he was aware and that it would be fixed and that I would be called if there was any issues. Well we came back today and the crack has not even been touched. Now we are going to have to leave our apartment for several more days and staying with my MIL is not currently an option. So now my question is, does my apartment complex legally have to pay for a hotel room for us while the tub is being worked on?
