My ex girlfriend (we were not married) dumped me 2 months ago. We had been together for 7 years and living together for almost 4 years in the house that I own and my life has been turned upside down and inside out mentally, emotionally, and financially by the breakup. Today I get a text from her asking for compensation since she helped chip in for expenses. Her grandparents also bought us a washer and dryer years ago that she is asking for compensation for. Living together wasn't a 50/50 split at all, I covered 70-75% of all of the shared costs the entire time we lived together. Her contribution was often not enough to cover just the bills/utilities alone. I am now broke as hell paying for this house myself but I am sort of managing by cutting my cost of living down as much as possible (haven't eaten out on my own dime since the BU, have had to eliminate all my subscriptions, my gym membership) so I obviously don't really have spare money to give her. I just don't know what to do here
