I own a home that was passed down through a family member who passed. Two other names are on the deed.
It’s been tied up in the courts for awhile trying to resolve its sale due to one of the parties who is living in it who is unresponsive to any request for info.
He had insurance on the place, which was only in his name. The claim was 100% a scam. (Guy is a life long con artist) Very minor damage, he ended up milking nearly 6 figures from the insurance company. I’m a contractor, and know for a fact it wouldn’t cost anywhere near that. He also used an unlicensed friend of his.
Is it legal for him to have insurance without the other parties on the deed?
