Requesting legal advice on how to handle a wrecked car situation.
Post Body

My ex girlfriend who I still communicate with asked if she could borrow my car to go to her nieces early service baptism. I said yes. Then she can return the car.

She did not go to baptism but instead of returning the car she causes a wreck about 4pm the same day. In a place I had no idea she was going to or given her permission to drive the car to.

Now she will hardly even speak to me and I have over 5k in damages to my vehicle as well as future damages and money the person that was taken to hospital is sure to be incoming as well. I know the other person car flipped several times.

I told the state trooper she had permission to use my car for the early morning baptism but DiD NOT have permission to go as she pleased. All this is in text messages as well.

What should I do next ? I do not want to get stuck paying this other person’s damages when I wasn’t even driving.

Any legal advice is helpful. This happened in Alabama. Thank you
