Hello, I know the answer to evey question about child custody and future divorce is " talk to a lawyer " I have a meeting with a lawyer in 3 weeks ( earliest I could get for a good one) So my wife ( soon to be ex) has announced she is moving out, we have been living in separate bedrooms for a little over a year, she said she hopes to be out of the house in the next 6 months, wants me to give her " time " to move her two rooms of " stuff" she brought from her previous marriage 6 years ago ( yes 6 years ) during this "separate bedrooms " over the last 14 months, she has never brought up , counseling or marriage therapy, I figured we would eventually end up in therapy but I didn't want to push her before she was ready, but for the last nine months she has been talking to an old high school sweetheart ( he is married and lives in Texas with his wife, maybe soon to be ex wife) so getting back to her moving out, apparently he is giving her money to buy a house, so she can move out, ( apparently he owns a company in Texas and is financially secure in giving her up to $400,000.00 for a house. The reason I know this is because I installed a blink camera in my dining room to catch my son getting up in the mornings ( kind of like a baby monitor) I installed two other cameras on the outside of the house to alert me when he went outside ( he has a learning disorder) so I overhead her talking to him and she was so happy and couldn't believe he would be willing to spend up to $400,000.00 So ,since she adopted my child several years ago ( real mother is out of the picture) when do I consider emergency child custody petitions, She keeps telling me she's, moving, and wants me to give her a few months for the move to finish, then she wants to talk about custody. In my mind I feel like this is LEGAL CHILD ABDUCTION . I am on pins and needles waiting on my lawyer appointment. Please advise
