Mechanic took apart my engine and refused to work on car
Post Body

On April 2nd I had my car towed to a shop that my dealership recommended. I towed the car because I was driving the car and it just died out of nowhere. There was no noise of anything breaking. The car just shut off and rolled to a stop. On April 25th the shop that had the car said they are going to be looking at my car the following week. I told them they needed to contact my warranty company BEFORE they did anything to the car. They went ahead and tore the engine down anyway. They said one piston was melted and another was cracked but they don't know what caused it. I fought with them through the entire month of May to contact my warranty company to no avail. Finally on June 14th they emailed the warranty company but the warranty company said they needed to be called. I call the shop and explain that to them and they say they will call as soon as we are off the phone. I wait 3 days and they still never called the warranty company. I called them demanding to know why they haven't called yet and I was told "due to your attitude we aren't going to work on it anymore." Today I had it picked up and towed to somewhere else and the engine is still completely taken apart.

For extra context I live in North Carolina and I never signed anything saying my engine could be taken apart.
