I (23m) got into a car crash without license and insurance

I got into a car crash yesterday and I mildly damaged the other drivers car. The biggest issue was that I was driving unlicensed and without insurance, in a car I don't own. My father and I agreed to have the other drivers car fixed, but I'm concerned on whether this is the best route. If you need to know, this occurred in Los Angeles California, and I do have a permit. But the latter doesn't have much to stand in for. If you need to know anything else, or got any idea on what we should really do, I would appreciate the help, please comment below.
