Need to break apartment lease early but not sure if I even legally need to pay the early-out fee.

Post Body

Hope the flair is correct, but as title says, I am currently trying to get out of my apartment lease which is a long story I canโ€™t get into, but Iโ€™m not sure how much I need to pay for the early out fee. When I let the leasing office know about my situation, they had told me I needed to give them a 60 day notice of vacancy and then after the 60 days, I owe them an early-out fee which is double what I pay for rent. However, the only thing I have in writing that mentions leaving my lease early only states I need to be a reletting fee of $825 which is my base rent and nowhere else in my lease agreement is there anything that says I need to pay a fee that is double. Should I ask them for a document that clearly states that I need to pay double or should I just go by what the lease agreement says? If I do the latter, is there a possibility they take me to court?
