Short-term disability question about compensation in New York

Post Body

I am a financial advisor that was out on short-term disability for over a month. My employer explained that I couldn't receive compensation from my job while receiving disability insurance payments. No double-dipping. I understood. However, I returned to work on 2/12 and did not receive any compensation for the entire month of February. Under normal circumstances, I have recurring revenue every month from a large book of business that I have built. I was told that because the revenue was paid on 2/4, before I came back, that I am not entitled to any of it even though that payment is for the entire month of February. I don't believe that can be accurate legally since it is revenue that was earned prior to my going out on disability. I need advice.
