Question about Pending divorce
Post Body

Madison county IL I am in the middle of a pending divorce with 1 child, neither of us have money to hire an attorney so we are both trying to do it on our own. My soon to be ex has filed and they have attempted to serve me twice, but say they cannot locate me. (Home and employer address’s are correct on the paperwork) Talking with my ex yesterday, she said she had to file something different, (I cannot remember what she said it was) she said it takes 30 days and then the divorce will be granted? Wondering if anyone can explain that better because that does not seem right to enter any kind of judgment especially when child custody is a factor and we do not agree on custody. Property, assets, debts have all been agreed on, custody is the only thing not agreed on. Any help is appreciated!
