I've a friend in the middle of a nasty custody battle for her 8 y/o daughter. The baby daddy disappeared for a couple years, then returned wanting full custody. He's never tried to contact them while gone nor has he paid any child support.
Currently he gets supervised visitation every other weekend. After the last visit the daughter mentioned that her dad was talking to her about "taking her away on a plane." My friend also learned that the last visit was not supervised, in violation of the court order.
She called CPS, but they said they couldn't do anything. She has a lawyer, but is scraping together the money to pay her and feels she can't ask her for advice yet.
And thoughts on what recourses she might have? 🤷🏻♂️
