Hey All,

Need advice.

New to Louisiana (Baton Rouge). I just moved into my new apartment today. After them having to push my move in date another date , because they are ā€œshort staffed and itā€™s not quite readyā€ , I arrived as planned the property manager assistant asked me if I can come by 2 hours later.. I told her Iā€™m already on the property but I can give them another hour. After the hour she gave me my keys and let me move in

Where do I begin with the problems with the unit. The unit is very worn and not like the pictures at all. There are bugs crawling up the walls as I speak. The walls have cracks in them , the apartment is filthy and dusty (no one cleans clearly, or barely did) thereā€™s paint on the floor, the paint on the walls are two toned (where they needed to touch up), the stove has scuffs all it. The porch is falling a part LITERALLY, she warned me as she handed me the keys and assured me itā€™d be repaired next week. The biggest concern for me is the bugs - I HATE BUGS . I canā€™t do it.

What are my rights? Can i leave tomorrow and term my lease ? Id rather be in a hotel and find a new apartment than in this place.

All advice would be greatly appreciated.
