Background: I’m in California and was involved in an incident that involves multiple plaintiffs. We finally agreed to a total settlement. A few of us have a disagreement and now me and an another individual are refusing to sign unless there are concessions. There is also a minor involved, my son who I would have to sign for.
What are the next steps? Are there consequences for not signing? Can they make me sign? Can I stick to my guns and hold out indefinitely? What moves should I be prepared for if I continue to hold out and can the lawyer go against me for not signing or are they obligated to still be on “my side”? If I do sign and the money goes to a trust, does the trust have an obligation to divvy the money equally or do we have a say on this matter as well?
