Newer employee of this company that says if I’m unable to take a lunch due to workload, they won’t pay the meal violation. They will only pay for time worked. My direct manager has been adding 30min (the lunch break) to the end of my shift to make up for the missed lunch, because I actually worked for that 30min break. Then adding a lunch break to my time card. Is this legal? I know from being a manager in retail that this is a big no no and they paid a meal break penalty if you were unable to take a lunch. (Oregon)
TLDR- company says if I don’t take a lunch they will add the worked lunch time to the end of my shift.
