I need some help I have a 3 years old male ball python snake that I purchased back in September 2020 I spent about $900 on him less than a year ago I lost my residence and went homeless so I had to find a temporary home for my boy until I was back on my feet so a friend of one of my fries took him in everything seemed to be going well until she said she had a lot going on and couldn’t care for him anymore so he went to my friends uncles house and they brought to my attention that he wasn’t being cared for properly initially when he was taken into the friend of my friends care he was in a plastic bin cause his terrarium had gone into storage and she had one she could put him in I told her for the time being poke some holes in the top and sides for his access to air and if ur going to cut a hole in the top please use some type of mesh screen but instead she used chicken wire (she has had reptiles and all sorts of animals in the past so idk why this wasn’t clear to her) she told me he tried to escape a few times and he ended up getting hurt, I took him out for the day back in may and he was perfectly fine (as shown in the picture) so somewhere between may and July something happened. so when he went to my friends uncle they said he was underfed and had scratches all over his body from the chicken wire on top of that I never okay’d him to go the uncle they just moved him there and they told me after he was already there so I had no way to find someone but now they’re telling me because he was “neglected” I’m not longer allowed to own him and that they won’t let me see him or care for him any longer because he wasn’t properly taken cared for when he wasn’t even in my care at the time of all this happening so now they’re saying it’s their snake now i live in California and im trying to figure out what to do as I currently still am homeless I have someone who can care for him for me someone actually trustworthy but I just need to find a way to get him back if I have to take legal action to get him back what way should I go about it and what should I do I’ve never done anything like this before and I just want my baby back.
