Four way intersection crash,
I have USAA and they determined the lady to be completely at fault. She is now trying to sue me for damages. I sent USAA all the paperwork and informed them this was urgent and the lawsuit required a response within 14 days or I could risk having a default judgment made against me.
The 14 days is nearly up and they have yet to respond to the lawsuit due to internal filing errors. I cannot afford an attorney and shouldn’t have to seeing as how most insurance companies provide legal defense in these situations. Regardless, should I be doing something to cover my own tracks because the only evidence I have right now that I’m working with my insurance company is that I sent them the documents almost 14 days ago. Is there anything else cost effective or free that I should do to cover my own butt so they don’t make a default judgment against me?
