Grounds for deciding if I need a lawyer.

I would like to understand the grounds needed to retain a lawyer for sexual discrimination or harassment against my employer. I need to understand retaliation for said things as well. Yes, there are plenty of reasons not just 1. I just want to work and I’m not the only one this has happened to. I’m looking for guidance. I’m fairly certain I already have a lawyer to deal with this but I’d like to know if I need to bother him. He’s expensive.
