Hey guys so my girlfriend was fired recently and we’re trying to figure out if it would be a good idea for her to file for unemployment benefits or not. The company she was working for had been paying it’s employees through payroll for a while until the past couple months where they’d just been paying them with cash instead or “under the table.” My question is, does she have a shot at getting unemployment? She does have clock rings through the app they use to keep track of hours, not sure if this would help the case out. For reference, we’re in New York. Thanks in advance!
