Dual Residency in Two States

Hello all.
Currently 21 and recently decided it was time for a change and will be moving to Michigan from Florida to be with my girlfriend. We would only be there for two years at most and then would move back to Florida. From what I understand it is unavoidable becoming a resident of Michigan because of this. Is it possible to keep my permanent address in Florida while staying and working in Michigan? I don’t want to lose my Floridian residency since I have a medical marijuana card, and for a few other reasons. Thanks for any help provided!
