So my husband, such a sweetheart, co-signed for a friend a few years ago. At the time it wasn’t a bad choice to make, the friend was stable and just needs a little help getting qualified for a car.
Well big mistake.
Now he owes us a lot of money because we’ve had to prevent that car from being repossessed (which honestly, at this point, we should’ve just let happen and wiped out hands of this)
Now come to find out he hasn’t paid his taxes for the past two years so now they’re coming for our tax return.
Is there ANYTHING we can do? This has prevented us from buying a home, screwed up our credit, and drained our own finances.
Any advice please.
