The Super Bowl my landlord and my privacy. Is this legal
Post Body

The Super Bowl is right across the street form my house the landlord of the building I live in is extra paranoid about us using airb&b and subleasing. They sent us 2 letters from their attorney and 2 emails about subleasing being against our lease. So to try and catch someone breaking the rules they are requiring residents to sign in and out every time they come and go. This morning I had come home so I signed in. 10 minutes later I walk my dog. As I’m walking out the security guards say something dumb about it being potty time and I walk out. 5 mins later I come back in and they ask me to sign in again. I told them no and the lady security guard calls the property manager to report me. So I just signed in to shut her up. Is this legal? This has to be a violation of my privacy. Basically anytime i come out the elevator and walk outside they want me to sign in and out.

When you sign in you’re information is not protected in any way. They ask for your name , unit number, 4 digits of your access card, your DRIVERS LICENSE # and it’s in plain view for anyone after you that signs in. So you are just giving your name full address and drivers license number to other residents, delivery people, contractors, other residents guests, house cleaners and whoever else needs to enter the building.
