Hello, my mom hired a handyman she found on an ad for Facebook marketplace. He did part of the work they agreed to and then blocked her on Facebook and blocked her number. The handyman and her exchanged messages on Facebook messenger and via text message. There was no contract but my brother was here when she gave him the money. It was cash unfortunately and it was 1,800. I want to help her take him to small claims court as we have his name and home address but would she likely win a portion of the money back?
