Today I (30 M) was working and a coworker came in and asked me to move this heavy object. I said I had just learned we were now storing them here, see there’s a bunch of them.
He got angry, pushed me 2x both making me stumble with my hands up protecting myself and trying to just let it happen (we were friends, anger happens).
Then on the third on I felt very unsafe and pushed him down keeping him from being able to harm me. Then my other coworker opens the door and I immediately let go - I felt safe now there was a witness.
The attacker immediately left. I cried. Admittedly this has been a rough year and I felt scared.
My boss told me to leave while the attacker kept working. I’m also asked not to come in tomorrow.
I also found out the attacker is claiming I instigated everything.
I don’t want to loose this job. I want to not make the attackers life harder by reporting to HR.
So far I wrote a detailed account of what happened and emailed it to myself for the time stamp.
What do I do?
