I live in Washington State and my friend who lives out of country needs someone here in America to help him purchase a used car to ship to his region where he resells for a profit.

What kind of legal/tax issues should I be concerned about - what kind of tax/law profession should I contact to get more information beyond reddit.

Basically he would send me money to buy a used car and ship it to him. I wouldn’t necessarily be trying to make any money off him unless it becomes a routine or very cumbersome and time consuming thing in which case I’d feel like an employee/independent contractor, as this is a close friend whom I love and want to help out.
