My partner and I are looking to buy a house in the next two years. Because of the cost of living in the area, we were hoping to go in on a house with a close friend of ours. He's interested and we trust him very much, but we were advised to all meet with a lawyer together to draft up a contract regarding the process and sharing of assets.

I've never hired a lawyer for anything in my life. I don't know how to find one and I don't know what kind of lawyer to seek out for this particular service or what to expect.

Can someone let me know what kind of lawyer to search for in regard to this job? Other general advice is welcome as well. I live in Washington State if that matters at all.
