So I have a friend who has recently passed the bar and started working.
However, her character and behavior have got me really concerned and embarrassed.
She keeps getting in altercations and proceeds to try to get her way by stating that she is a lawyer.
For example, she had a road rage incident so bad (her fault) that the other driver got out of his car to scream at her. She then started yelling that he needs to get back in the car and watch how he speaks to her, screaming “you can’t speak to me like that, I’m a lawyer!!”
Another time she was trying to place a delivery order and the establishment called her to tell her since her order was after the cut off time stated on their app they won’t be delivering. She then proceeded to scream on the phone that she doesn’t care and she will sue them for it because she is a lawyer.
Another time she started an argument with a parking attendant because he was telling her the rules of their particular private parking space and she again started screaming that she is a lawyer and they can’t talk to her like that, and she knows the law.
I’m really considering ending my friendship over this behavior as I find it very repulsive, but am also wondering- is this allowed? What does the bar think of this behavior and can someone be disbarred for it?
If you end your friendship with her, she might sue you. You know, she’s a lawyer.
