So I went into Walmart today to get groceries. Important info, I get food stamps because i’m a broke college student. So all the groceries I was getting were being paid for by my food stamps. So I check out and go to leave. The guy at the front door checks my receipt and I walk out the door. Asset protections come follow me and pull me in their office.
The guy immediately is talking to me like i’m a criminal and i’m stealing a bunch of products. He tells me to empty my bag. I tell him there’s nothing in my bag to which he tells me if I don’t empty my bag they’re gonna search it and call the police. I told the guy to feel free to look in my bag because I didn’t take anything. Of course they find nothing.
So then they start going through my bags of purchased product and checking my receipt. Everything is checking off the list. Then we get to a single can of Poppi soda. I got a bunch of different flavors but i just kept scanning the same can so it was a quicker process. Long story short, ONE can got missed. It was completely an accident.
So they write this file on me with all my information and the guy keeps telling me that if he wanted to he could call the police on me. Is there anything else to this? Anything else I should know? I’m in shock rn because I genuinely went into that office so confused as to why they were pulling me aside.

What are you a fucking 90’s high school sitcom principal? “This will go down on your permanent record!” Gfys, if OP’s story even is true shit happens. Sounds like loss prevention was on a power trip that day.
