Playing Led Zeppelin
Post Body

Life is good. Four hours rehearsal last night with the full band then today all afternoon just me and the singer working on vocals. What a privilege and a gift to be able to create and play and live inside this music! Over the past couple days we hit:

The Rover (our eponymous song, we're just learning it now,) Good Times Bad Times Out on the Tiles Over the Hills and Far Away The Ocean Dancing Days Four Sticks Thank You What Is And What Should Never Be Black Dog (our other eponymous song, which we've been battling with for a while )

That was last night. Today we worked just with bass and acoustic, looking for solutions to some vocals that had been eluding us for a minute. Focused on Tangerine and Thank You, but also the doo-wops in The Ocean. Today we found some righteous solutions and it sounded pretty damn not bad. It was, simply, fun. We also nailed a very beautiful and lyrical version of Going to California, currently the song that is my true love and I want to marry. 💘

The point is, and as any musician on this forum who covers LZ tunes understands, I'm feeling awfully blessed these days to have my little group and to be able to create our own versions of these amazing, epic, incomparable songs and live inside them. It feels like an honor.
