Those who got rejected by susi initially but now have the grant, how did you do it?

Got rejected by susi first time round despite living in a single parent household and moving away for college, appealed and was basically given 500 for the year and told to fuck off. At the moment i can barely afford college and part time work most likely isn’t gonna give me enough money to live on, So if anyone has any advice on how to finesse my way into more money from susi please let me know
