As someone who knew I had an alcohol problem, but didn’t believe I’d ever be able to quit smoking, 110 days is absolutely something I’m proud of.
I’m also back in the gym, been going to therapy for about 80 days now, reading books, going on longer walks with my dog, more in touch with my girlfriend, more present in life overall, and not falling behind on any of my responsibilities (including bills!!!).
If you had told me 111 days ago this is the person I’d become, I would not believe you. I’d likely laugh at you and tell you “that’s just not my reality.”
But it is my reality. I’m in AA/HA (I know it’s not for everyone) and I have a sponsor. I have sober friends, I don’t go out as much as I used to, but most of that going out was just to get drunk or high, not to actually go out.
I’m ready for today, gonna kick some boo-tay.
