I've smoked daily for well over 10 years, tried to quit many times but this time it's for good, I know it, it's so disruptive to my life and ambitions, I just want to live my life instead of spending every spare second of the day on the couch alone.
My problem is that when I get to around the 1 month mark (currently at 2) I start to experience a lump in my throat, sort of like I need to burp or throw up, sometimes it's barely noticeable or not noticeable at all, but more often it's quite distressing, in the past when I've started smoking again it went away immediately. Last time I quit about a year and a half ago, I saw my doctor and he had me go for an ultrasound, they couldn't see anything and he suggested they could stick a camera down my throat to have a look but that it wouldn't be covered my Medicare (the Australian healthcare system) so I would need to pay out of pocket.
I have an appointment to see him in a few weeks to look into the issue further but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has resolved the issue or at least determined a cause?
