Usage of "que" in certain sentences

“Cállate, que me duele la cabeza”
"No te acerques tanto a la lumbre, que te puedes quemar."
I'm confused as to why "que" is placed in both of these sentences. I've seen and heard many more examples throughtout my learning where "que" is ussed like this but I came across these today and decided to get some clarification so I won't be so confused going foward lol.
