Advice for first project
Post Body

Howdy y’all,

I’m looking to start working on my first project using python! While I admit it’s a bit daunting, I’m looking forward to what I’ll learn and hopefully I’ll be able to create something useful.

That being said, I’d love recommendations for things to look into like packages/libraries or certain skills I can research and practice before finagling them into a project.

The project is this: I get a CSV file every day, so I’d like to make a database (MySQL, PostGres, SQLite? Idk the differences yet) to store everything in, then be able to query the data out (maybe not all, just the most recent 30 days), and essentially make PDF reports for a sports team with time series graphs (FYI, this will be GPS data). The graphs will be individual per athlete and a team average.

What topics, resources, etc. do y’all recommend I start learning about? My biggest point of confusion is how to store the data and what database to use.
