"SyntaxError: invalid syntax" Script works outside IDLE, doesn't work in IDLE
Post Body

I just spent the last 1/2 hour trying to troubleshoot a learning script and it turns out to be a problem with idle. Is there a rule of thumb to know what won't work in IDLE so I don't get stuck there in the future?

code snippet for reference url = sys.argv[1]

When running 'python script.py arg' it worked, running 'script.py arg' inside IDLE didn't.
