Where do I need to start?
Post Body

Hello everyone. So I am a recent graduate and I recently got employed with a company that's exploring an open source software called TELEMAC for developing hydraulic engineering based modelling. You can find the Git repository Here.

The software does all the mathematical computations on Fortran, but most of the scripts that run the software are all in python. I have no background and in python and I want to spend some time learning it enough to be able to grasp the python scripts in the code. The python scripts can be found in the same repository Here.

I would like to seek advice on where to start and what resources can I refer to go in the right direction. If anyone could please give me a maybe a flow or a set of resources to build myself towards understanding how it works, it would be great.

My current background in programming is very very basic. I have some experience in mathematical and hydrodynamic works on MATLAB and a tiny background in C. All my coding so far are done on linux and I am able to navigate and get things done on a terminal.

Thank you in advance.
