Not to sound cliche, but I'm another guy in his 30s thinking about learning to program and maybe forging a career from it, despite a lack of experience in the field.
So far, the only things I've looked into and tried doing was learning HTML and CSS and I want to simultaneously learn JS soon too.
So far, I love learning and trying new concepts and I like trying to figure out problems. That eureka moment when when you're trying to figure out how a line of code works and it suddenly clicks is an awesome feeling. Also, just the plain act of typing in code feels rewarding too, somehow.
But I'm guessing that if one wanted to make a career out of it, you would be faced with stress of the job, routine work, deadlines, and other things I can't think of. How do I really know if I'm cut out for any future professional work before I invest a ton of future time learning all of this? Especially since I'm in my 30s, working, and don't have a ton of free time as it is? I can't imagine it will always feel so great as I feel now just learning and being amazed that stuff I type in a text editor actually shows up on a webpage!
So how do you really know, especially in the early days as I am now?
