Learn to code on the job?

Just something I wondering if this even existed. I'm currently working full time in an unrelated field and I'm teaching myself to code essentially part time, with hopes of being a web developer someday.
Obviously, it would be ideal if a position actually taught new hires the coding skills they need (unrealistic, I know). Otherwise, it will take me a long time to have the necessary skills to get even a junior developer position only learning part time. Ever heard of a thing like this though?
