I've never touched web design, but I'm trying to work on a simple script that compares submissions from a form.

Post Body

Basically, I want to make a script that lets students in a dorm know if someone on their hall if taking the same course as they are, and then relays their personal information. As the titles states, I've never really messed with web languages, although I know other HLLs.

I know how to make the forms using HTML and validate them (I believe that's the correct term) using Javascript, but I don't know how to submit the information, store it, compare it to other submissions, and relay the matches back to the user.

I'm not asking for a complete solution, just a step in the right direction. :)
